Our approach
There is a commitment, both at national level (via the NHS Improvement Framework) and within our own Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System (ICS) strategy to work towards a consistent approach to improvement.
We believe that this will help to support deliberate, coordinated and inclusive Improvement
Across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICS, we will support this consistent approach by sharing Improvement resources, training, and news via these web pages, by connecting colleagues via our Organisational Development (OD) and Improvement Community of Practice, by our visible support and impact within large scale Improvement projects and by our commitment to share learning.
Our approach is grounded in the Model for Improvement, the basis for our system Improvement training offer. You can learn more about this approach from these short videos from the Institute of Healthcare Improvement.
To do this we will:
Build improvement capability
Via accessible and equitable
training offers.
Have a shared understanding
And a systematic approach to tackling complex problems.
Have a thriving culture
That supports improvements
to happen.
Give everyone an equal voice
And the power to make improvements.
Improvement Hub
Our Improvement Hub offers a space for people to share system opportunities, aimed at bringing significant impact across a range of clinical and non-clinical problems that affect our patients, staff, families and those in the community.

Training
‘Quality, Service Improvement and Re-design’ (QSIR) is the only accredited NHS QI training programme. It is open to anyone from system partner organisations, and would suit colleagues involved in improvement projects or programmes, either as a beginner or to brush up on more advanced skills.
